If you’ve ever dealt with old-school metal coil heaters, you know the drill. You turn them on, go grab a coffee, maybe take a phone call, and then you come back to see if they’re finally hot. We wanted to fix that. That’s why we built this 400mm, 1100W carbon fiber lamp. Instead of waiting on a heavy piece of metal to warm up, we use a weave of carbon filaments. The result? It hits your target temperature almost instantly. No lag. Just heat. The Nitty-Gritty on Power It runs on a standard 220V line, which is great because you don’t have to mess around with bulky transformers or weird wiring. It just plugs in and works. Since it hits 1100W, it’s a perfect fit for those medium-sized drying or curing chambers. But a quick heads-up: because it ramps up so fast, make sure your control relays can handle that initial surge of power. You don’t want your contacts welding together just because the lamp is too eager to get started. Why Carbon Fiber? Here’s the thing about quartz or halogen tubes—they can be fragile. One bad thermal cycle and snap. Carbon fiber is just tougher. It handles the constant expanding and contracting of heating and cooling without giving up on you. Plus, the heat it puts out is different. It leans toward long-wave infrared. Instead of just scorching the surface of whatever you’re heating, the warmth actually sinks deeper into the material. If you’re tired of replacing those old ceramic heaters every few months, this is a much better way to go. A Few Things to Keep in Mind This lamp is a beast in a small footprint, but you have to be smart about where you put it. It getshot. Like, really hot. Keep it far away from anything that could catch fire. And if you’re using it in a spot with a lot of airflow, keep in mind that some of that heat is going to blow away. You’ll probably need to tweak your PID controllers. Because the lamp responds so quickly, it can sometimes overshoot your target temperature if the settings are too aggressive. Just dial it in once, and you’re golden.
