The Power Stuff
At 550mm long and pulling 1500W on a 220V circuit, this thing puts out a serious amount of concentrated heat. Now, here’s a small detail that actually matters: the SK15 connector. We use it to lock the lamp firmly into the socket. Why? Because machines vibrate. If a lamp shifts even a little, you get uneven heating or, worse, electrical arcing. The SK15 keeps everything tight and safe.
Why Carbon Fiber?
Most people are used to metal halogen coils, but carbon fiber is a different beast. It doesn’t just heat the surface; it pushes heat deeper into whatever material you’re working on. Plus, it hits your target temperature way faster. And if you’re already running an infrared setup, you’re in luck. The SK15 base makes this a simple drop-in replacement. No need to rewire your entire floor. Also, since carbon fiber doesn’t “burn out” the way thin tungsten wires do, it handles the constant on-off cycling of a busy production line much better.
Real-World Use (and a few warnings)
You’ll mostly see these in PET blowing, drying tunnels, or plastic welding. That 550mm size is the sweet spot for covering wide conveyor belts or those big preform molds. But look, a word of caution. 1500W in a package this size creates a lot of surface heat.**A lot.**You can’t just slap this into any old housing. Make sure your reflectors are up to the task and your ventilation is solid, or your surrounding components are going to take a beating. One last thing—check your controllers. Make sure they can handle the inductive load, or you’ll be replacing your relays way sooner than you’d like.
