We built this 560mm, 1500W infrared carbon fiber heating lamp to be a straight-up, drop-in heat source for industrial machines. The kind of machines that need serious infrared power, fast, and on command. It’s a compact package—just 560mm long—but it punches way above its weight with a concentrated 1500W output. You get a ton of heat density without having to deal with bulky, oversized hardware.
Let’s Talk Power, Voltage, and Size
The 1500W rating is all about the heat output, and the 560mm length defines the heating footprint. We chose this combo specifically for those tight, narrow-lane heating zones you see on conveyor lines and forming equipment. You need serious watt density, but you just don’t have the room for a longer lamp that would demand extra mounting hardware and clearance. When it comes to voltage, you have to match it to your control panel and transformer. If we set you up with a 400V version, the current is lower than on a 230V model. That means you can get away with smaller wiring and put less stress on your contactors. Here’s the trade-off: you get easier high-voltage distribution, but the lamp becomes dependent on a steady 400V supply. If you have voltage imbalances or brownouts, you’ll feel it right away as inconsistent temperatures.
Inside the Design: Carbon Fiber, Quartz, and the Right Fit
The carbon fiber heating elements are what make this thing feel alive. They heat up almost instantly thanks to low thermal mass, so the lamp comes up to temperature fast and responds on a dime to setpoint changes. Those elements are housed inside a quartz envelope. It handles the extreme heat and lets the infrared energy pass through cleanly. We also use a halogen gas fill to protect the filament from oxidation, which keeps the output stable over the life of the lamp. The coating is chosen to shape the IR spectrum, so it’s absorbed by common industrial materials—plastics, coatings, adhesives. More energy goes into the part, not into just heating the air around it. And the connector? That’s mission-critical. We use an R7s base for a secure, two-point connection that’s standard across most industrial heater holders. It makes the lamp a true drop-in replacement. If your setup needs something different, we have an SK15 option. Just make sure the holder geometry and contact pressure are right. Loose contacts lead to arcing and a short life.
What It’s For: Heat Where You Need It, Without the Hassle
This lamp is for processes that demand fast response and repeatable temperature. Think preheating thermoplastic sheets, drying coatings, curing adhesives, or localized heating on an assembly line. The 560mm form keeps the heating zone tight, and the 1500W power gives you the muscle for short cycle times. Installation is straightforward. Match the voltage, confirm the holder type (R7s or SK15), and wire it up with the right rated cable and fusing. Just be ready for high surface temperatures—plan for proper guarding and thermal isolation. And because the lamp responds so quickly, your temperature controller needs to be tuned for infrared dynamics, not for slow convection heating. Otherwise, you’ll get temperature overshoot.
